Welcome to CAS lab

CAS Lab was founded in 2016 by Prof. Fotis Plessas and is housed in the Efremoglou Building. It is an official lab of the ECE Department of the University of Thessaly. Its main objectives are to support educational activities, develop scientific research, and produce knowledge in the broad scientific field of Analog, Digital, RF Circuits and Systems, Hardware Security, EDA tools and their applications. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure including CAD tools, equipment for prototyping, characterization and testing of microelectronic circuits and systems, and access to foundries.

A range of collaborations have been established between the lab and parties from both academic institutes and industry partners. It is sponsored by contracted research and collaboration with commercial and government organizations.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to equip students with the fundamental ideas and principles that underpin modern engineering practice. We believe that the more closely interacting a research group is, the better the science and the more fun overall. Our research involves teams composed of undergraduate and graduate and/or postdoctoral students. This environment provides undergraduates with hands-on research experience, and the graduate/postdoc students with research and mentorship skills. We are always looking for talented, enthusiastic and diverse scientists to join our efforts!
